How long do Unilock® products last?
Unilock paving stones are manufactured to be a minimum strength two times greater than the strength of normal poured concrete. Unilock provides a lifetime guarantee on the structural integrity of its paving stone to the original purchaser of the product for residential use. Material installed using our installation guidelines which prove defective, will be replaced without cost. Color matching cannot be guaranteed and replacement labor is not included. Proof of purchase is required.
Will my Unilock® paving stones last longer if I seal them?
No. Sealer does 3 things. First it helps resist stain penetration. Second, it enhances the color. And third, it binds the sand particles in between the joints making it difficult for weed seeds to germinate.
What do I do if I get an oil stain?
It can be removed using Unilock's Unicare Oil and Dirt Remover. The sooner you clean a stain the better the result.
If I have weeds in my patio how do I get rid of them?
Apply a spot vegetation killer as required. This is available from any garden centre.
If something was to chip or damage my pavers could I replace them?
Very easily! A paver can be pried out easily with two flat head screwdrivers and a new paver inserted.
Does frost affect my installation?
No, if you install them on a properly prepared base Unilock pavers will outlast poured concrete.
How soon after installation can I use my driveway or patio?
Immediately. Just be sure that you have completed all the aspects of installation (i.e. compaction and the sweeping in of the jointing sand).
How do paving stones compare with other paving or decking materials?
Over the lifetime of your installation paving stones are more aesthetically pleasing, durable and cost effective.
Can I use paving stones around a swimming pool?
Absolutely! Unilock pavers not only enhance the area around a pool, they also provide a slip resistant surface to walk on. Also, if you ever have to service the area below the pavers you can easily lift and re-lay the pavers.
I want to build a retaining wall seven feet high, what wall is best suited for this?
Many Unilock® retaining walls can be used for this application. Whenever building a retaining wall over 39" (1 meter) you are required to consult a professional engineer.
